Here are a few yoga asanas that can help you stay healthy during the monsoon, avoid weight gain, and increase immunity. These yoga poses have the added advantage of being simple to perform at home, which will aid in preventing weight gain and enhancing general immunity during the rainy season.

1. Dandasana

Helps in stretching the overall legs and activates your calves as well as legs. This helps in correcting the alignment of the back spine.

2. Bhujangasana Or The Cobra Pose

Helps to open your lungs, strengthens your spine and increases your overall energy. The asanas improve your digestion and relieve the pressure on your liver, thus reducing the load on your immune system.

3. Paadhastasana

Helps to stimulate your abdomen and the surrounding organs, which leads to stronger immunity. This also helps to improve blood circulation in the brain. Paadhastasana reduces anxiety, insomnia and fatigue as well.

Apart from these asanas, Parwani also advises practising Savasana as it is one of the easiest and most relaxing asanas which also helps to breathe better and calm your mind. She believes more than 50% of diseases can be reversed if one breathes correctly.
“I truly believe that any kind of practice is good enough. What you do for 60 minutes on the mat is truly going to transform the other 23 hours of the day. Consistency also helps you to feel connected,” says the yoga expert.
