Do you want to lose weight but don’t have enough time or money to go to the gym?
Or maybe you just don’t like going to the gym?
Well, there are several other ways you can lose weight without having to go to the gym, Telegraph reports.
Personal trainer Elliot Upton has shared the top four tips to help you lose weight.
Walking
Walking is a great way to lose weight – it’s free and effective.
The personal trainer believes that walking and everyday activities such as housework and playing with the kids are underrated when it comes to weight loss.
Losing weight isn’t just about spending 30 minutes on the treadmill (treadmill) and then spend the whole day sitting.
Elliot recommends starting small and then after a short while work your way up to 10,000 steps a day.
Diet
Unfortunately you cannot lose weight if you are consuming more calories than you are burning.
The trainer recommends foods that are high in protein but low in calories and packed with nutrients.
Resistance exercises
Elliot believes that resistance training at least three times a week is essential.
He says these exercises help you build muscle mass, burn fat, increase your metabolic rate and improve blood sugar control.
Such exercises that you can do at home are squats, deadlifts, pumps, planks, etc.
HIIT exercises
Elliott recommends high-intensity interval training because it expends more energy than lighter exercise.
He recommends doing such exercises two or three times a week, while the program he recommends is this:
– 20 seconds sprint as fast as you can
– 60 seconds walk slowly, breathe and recover
Repeat this 10 times and it takes less than 15 minutes.
Each week add an extra round to challenge the body and increase energy expenditure.
